Screenwriter of the remake of “Raid” wanted to make a film about the Punisher with Nick Fury

Screenwriter of the upcoming remake “Raid” Adam G. Simon in a new interview spoke about his idea for full-length adaptation The Punisher.

Before trying on a role John BurntalSimon proposed the idea of a film about Frank Castle to Marvel. And after the completion of the Netflix series, she adopted a slightly different format.

According to Simon, the picture would start from the moment the series ended, but now Frank would know everything about the threat to humanity that supervillains and superheroes pose.

He would go on a hunt for a character who, in his opinion, was responsible for countless casualties among the general population and largely brought such weapons of mass destruction to this world – we are talking about Nick Fury.

But in the course of the plot they would have revealed that someone was using Frank to get to Fury. And the hero himself would have noticed this at the end of the first act of the picture. After that, the plot resembled a story from a film “Train to Yuma” – Frank and Fury together would be hiding at the same time from heroes and villains.

In addition, the author wanted to use music in the film Eminem, that was extremely dissatisfied with the closure of the Netflix series. Simon wanted to call Bernthal again for Castle, and Samuel L. Jackson would return to the role of Fury.

Joel Edgerton (“Brightness”) would play Tagged, and Jeffrey Wright (“World of the Wild West”) or Russell Crowe would be called Micro. Also, the Avengers team would appear in the film, and Simon wanted to see Joe Lynch (“Point blank”) as the director.

And, of course, the rating of the film would be an adult – R.

Simon’s dreams are unlikely to come true now, however the appearance of the Punisher in the Marvel cinema universe is quite possible sometime in the future.
