A rumor appeared on the network that the South Korean company Samsung as part of a consortium plans to buy part of the business ARM… But now, as it reports Yahoo Finance, it became known that this is not so.
The company clarified that these are completely “groundless” rumors, although they did not give a more detailed comment. Note that earlier the media reported that Samsung claimed 3-5% of ARM’s capital. According to the sources, this should have reduced the company’s expenses on license fees.
It is currently unknown if the consortium plans to buy ARM from SoftBank Group or NVIDIA will do it. In the latter case, this can lead to monopolization, which will clearly be opposed by the regulators of a number of countries.
At the same time, we note that NVIDIA is ready to pay more than $ 32 billion for ARM, while the consortium of companies, according to media reports, is ready to pay about $ 41 billion.
