American Publishing Division Orbit books reported that while waiting for the audience to premiere the series The witcher from Netflix demand for books from the cycle “The witcher“Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski steadily increased throughout 2019. After the start of the show, sales simply exploded, and in all formats available on the market.
“We are witnessing phenomenal sales in all formats – print, electronic and in the segment of audio books,” the statement said.
The Americans bought up almost all of the Witcher’s print supplies. In an attempt to satisfy huge demand, Orbit Books is preparing a new circulation of books for the American market. They plan to send over 500,000 copies to stores.
“We know that currently you can’t buy books everywhere. Our team works incredibly hard to get the books back on the shelves as soon as possible.”
Books from the Witcher series were translated into English in 2007, but only twelve years later for the first time hit in prestigious bestseller rating New york times in the USA.
The series from Netflix also caused a big surge in game sales from CD Projekt RED. And taking into account the fact that the show has already been extended for the second season (and the showrunner has seven plans for them), all the other Witcher products will definitely remain in trend for a very long time.
It is also worth recalling that Sapkowski and CD Projekt recently concluded an agreement under which developers can use the license to create new games in the future.
