Over the past decade the frequency with which Rockstar games releases its titles, has decreased significantly: if until 2013 the company released at least one game every year, then after the release Grand theft auto v we only saw Red dead redemption ii. Not taking into account the re-release of GTA V, the sequel RDR was actually the only new game from Rockstar in the current generation of consoles.
This situation, according to rumors, is not much like Take-Two Interactive. SWEGTA blogger, YouTube’s host of the eponymous Rockstar Games channel, said that Take-Two executives “pressure” their subsidiary to try to convince Rockstar Games to return to a more frequent release schedule. Yutuber believes that Rockstar’s return to former politics may not have the best effect on the main series (Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead), but on the other hand, this would allow the company to stimulate the release of smaller games, like Bully and Manhunt.
Take-Two is reportedly pressuring Rockstar Games to return to their more frequent game release schedule.
Although this probably would be bad for bigger franchises like GTA and Red Dead, it could incentivize them to continue focusing on much smaller titles like Bully and Manhunt.
