Rumor: Dishonored fell into the hands of Netflix

In 2017, after the release of the independent expansion Death of the Outsider, a series of stealth action games Dishonored went on hiatus. Whether a new franchise game is currently being prepared is unknown, but, apparently, it will have its own television adaptation from Netflix

The news about the development of the series based on Dishonored with reference to a “reliable and trusted source” was shared by the publication Giant Freakin Robotwho has a very controversial reputation for rumors. However, even 18 months ago, the screenwriter Jennifer Hutchison wrote on Twitter that she would like to have the opportunity to work on the script for the TV show Dishonored, so it is possible that such a project may indeed be in production.

Having started her career as an assistant on The X-Files, Hutchison has become a highly respected screenwriter, behind her shoulders working on such series as “Breaking Bad“, its a spin-off”You better call Saul“and serialized film adaptation”Lord of the rings“from Amazon. It is rumored that she was previously invited to the position of showrunner for several projects at once, but she remained true Vince Gilligan and the entire Breaking Bad team. Now that AMC is finalizing the final season of Better Call Saul, Hutchison will be free to switch to other projects. It is possible that the Dishonored series will be one of them.

Aside from three video games, the franchise has also spawned a trilogy of novels, a comic book series, and a tabletop RPG. The studio behind Dishonored Arkane previously stated that she would not mind returning to the world of the game with a completely new story in the future, but so far she is fully focused on developing two new original titles – Deathloop and Redfall
