Rumor: CD Projekt RED has hired several third-party studios to help with the development of the Cyberpunk 2077

According to the Polish edition PolskiGamedev.pl, Studio CD Projekt RED connected to development Cyberpunk 2077 several third-party teams. Journalists report that they are aware of the cooperation of the head office with at least QLOC, Crunching koalas and Testronic. They have extensive experience in porting games from one platform to another, making assets, optimizing and debugging products.

Recently, CD Projekt RED postponed the release of Cyberpunk 2077 from April to September 2023. Soon the Polish insider Boris Nespelyak declaredthat the studio took such a step because of performance problems on the current generation consoles. Worst of all, the game shows itself on the base model of the Xbox One.

PolskiGamedev.pl also writes that CD Projekt RED brought in third-party technical experts to create its ambitious game, among them Michal “Bonzaj” Staniszewski, a well-known optimization expert in Poland.

In general, sources say that the studio has “the broadest external support.” And it is caused not only by problems with optimization. Just creating such a game requires a lot of effort and often you can’t do without outside help.

“I would not be surprised if I knew that the entire Polish industry helps make Cyberpunk 2077,” one of the site’s interlocutors noted.

Cyberpunk 2077 is coming out September 17, 2023.
