To the editors of the portal Gamemag.ru a new hard drive from the company came to the test Seagate – Game Drive for 2TB PS4. This portable external HDD in a matte case branded under the console from Sony and is sold in Russia at a price of 5,700 rubles.
The gadget is located inside a plastic protective container, which is packed in a very tight cardboard box in blue with the Seagate, PS4 logos and a photo of the device.
The kit includes a special USB 3.0– wire (48 cm) for connecting this HDD to PS4, PC and other systems, instructions in 11 languages, warranty information (2 years) and an additional data sheet for Australian residents.
The Seagate Game Drive for PS4 2TB weighs just 135 grams. This is a small flat box 113x76x11 mm with logo Playstation and a thin white light indicator in the form of a strip. If you wish, you can take it with you as a large flash drive with all the games installed in order to play them on another PS4 (for example, from the office or cottage) from your profile.
Connecting to a PC is instant, and for PS4 you will need to go to Settings -> Devices -> USB drives and format Seagate PS4 Game Drive. All this takes about 10 seconds. It is important to note that the PS4 recommends that you disconnect the HDD through the same menu before disconnecting – in order to avoid data corruption.
Available for use 1.84 TB. That is, about 45 modern games will fit on the disk.
I checked the speed of HDD on PC in applications Crystal disk mark, Crystal disk info and Anvil’s Storage Utilities. The data obtained is good for HDD: read speed 137.9 MB / s, write speed 130.2 MB / s by CDM. The temperature is 35 degrees Celsius.

Seagate Game Drive for PS4 2TB – This is a good option for those who need to maximize the space for games on their console without opening the case. The speed of this HDD is adequate by the standards of this kind of drives, but do not expect revelations – this requires much more expensive SSDs. In addition, the price is still overpriced. The same Seagate has a beautiful Expansion black 2 TB, which at the same speed costs 1000 rubles cheaper, although without a beautiful logo Playstation.
