On February 17, Fortnite developers began to tease the new season of the second chapter of the “royal battle”. Posters with numbers appeared around the world, typing which fans can hear stylized messages about a new event, and on the game’s social networks everything suddenly turned gold. The first hints for the new season appeared on February 17 immediately in all regions: the developers posted animated posters in Brazil, Australia, the USA, Japan, Poland, Russia and several other countries. On them, fans could only see the logo of the game, which was then covered by a golden hand (see image above). In some cities, telephone numbers were placed on posters with hand. By calling them, you could hear messages addressed to certain agents.
From the audio recordings one could understand that in the world of Fortnite a special operation called “Oil Rig” started, which subsequently failed. Restoring the chronology of events is problematic, but it seems that during the asylum assignment the agencies were compromised, and its performers had to switch to a new mission. One of the agents seems to be a cat. In a message that could be heard in Moscow, a meow sounded in response to the words of the operator. It could be assumed that the cat accidentally appeared at the microphone, but earlier in the game files they found the mention of a certain “Agent Mauskles”. Other audio recordings were connected with him, on which one could also hear meowing. Moreover, on a spectrogram of messages, fans found images of two cats, as well as a skeleton of a fish. Another key element of the new teasers is the golden color that appeared on all posters and in all social networks of the game. The developers repainted the Fortnite logo, added gold to the banner, and also launched the event on Twitter. There, Epic Games reported that it intercepted the data transfer and began to decrypt it.
At first, the thematic picture depicted only the same golden palm as on the teasers of the new season. Then the fans got an image covered in pixels. Later, the developers “decrypted” the data by 65% and got a blurry face, and by 98% the picture became even clearer. Then it became possible to read words in different languages on it. Most of them mean “minions” or “minions,” but the Russian version says: “Spies.”

Images are made in gold, like all previous teasers. Because of this, fans suggested that the developers plan to add a fourth material to the game for construction – gold, the walls of which will be indestructible. On the official Fortnite server in Discord, random users began to get the gold colors of nicknames and roles that do not give any advantages.
Later, other hints appeared in Fortnite about the imminent appearance of new material. For instance, treasure chestsscattered on the map, or hidden data in an old message from the developers. At first it seemed that the gold bars in it covered part of the text, but now users assume that in fact the message should be read like this: “In the second season, you will find gold bars and even more gold bars.”

The developers did not say when the second season of the second chapter of Fortnite will be released, however, the images on Twitter indicate the date – February 20, 2023.
