Companies Adult swim and Crunchyroll presented the debut trailer of the animated CG-series Blade Runner: Black Lotus (“Blade Runner: Black LotusThe cult franchise’s animated spin-off takes place in 2032 – between the events of the original 1982 film, where we were shown the world of the future sample of 2019, and “Blade Runner 2049“.
The plot of the upcoming anime series is a replicant girl named El, voiced in the English dub by Jessica Henwick (“Iron fistThe main character has special fighting skills, but does not understand for what purpose she was created.
The story will be tied to the Tyrell Corporation from the original film and the Wallace Corporation from the sequel. In this regard, the show should expect the appearance of familiar characters.
The project was produced by an animation studio Sola Digital Arts (“Ghost in the Shell: Loner Syndrome 2045“), led by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama as directors, while director of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo Shinichiro Watanabe took over as producer.
