Resident Evil Village performance on consoles raises questions – review addiction

Capcom after the presentation on Resident evil presented the technical features of all console versions Resident evil village – with an indication of the resolution and expected performance.

Playstation

  • Ray traced PS5 – 4K @ 45 FPS
  • PS5 without ray tracing – 4K @ 60 FPS
  • PS4 Pro (resolution) – 4K @ 30 FPS
  • PS4 Pro (performance) – 1080p @ 60 FPS
  • PS4 – 900r at 45 FPS.

Xbox

  • Ray traced Xbox Series X – 4K @ 45 FPS
  • Xbox Series X no ray tracing – 4K @ 60 FPS
  • Ray-traced Xbox Series S – 1440p @ 45 FPS
  • Xbox Series S without ray tracing – 1440p @ 60 FPS
  • Xbox One X (resolution) – 4K @ 30 FPS
  • Xbox One X (performance) – 1080p @ 60 FPS
  • Xbox One – 900r at 30 FPS.

The developers note that 4K marking implies dynamic resolution – in complex scenes it will be reduced to maintain high performance.

Judging by the January PS5 demo, where it was impossible to disable ray tracing, the game quietly produces fair 4K at 60 FPS with rare drops to 48 frames – however, of course, the demo took place in a closed location without battles.

Perhaps mentioning 45 FPS implies the worst case scenario, while in other cases the performance will be higher – perhaps the same 60 FPS. There are a couple of days left before the gameplay demo will be released, at least on the PlayStation. There we will find out how things are going with optimization.

Resident Evil Village itself launches on May 7 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC.
