Last week at Capcom there was a massive data breach that revealed plans for the publisher’s upcoming game releases. From the leaked release schedule, in particular, it became known that for the window from January to March 2023, the company is preparing a certain Resident Evil: Outbreak J…
If you’re unfamiliar with the franchise, Outbreak is a sub-series of Resident Evil, currently consisting of two PlayStation 2 games. While both titles support single player, they are primarily designed to be played by a group of players and offer a series of unrelated survival episodes in Raccoon City, set at the same time as RE2 and RE3.
As for Outbreak J, it was initially unclear whether it would be a remake or a sequel, but a well-known insider Dusk golem clarified. According to him, underneath Outbreak J, there is actually a completely different game hiding, namely Resident Evil: Revelations 3…
He did not disclose other information about the project, so it is not yet clear whether Outbreak is just a codename or whether Revelations 3 will somehow correspond in one form or another to the old parts of Outbreak.
It’s Revelations 3, not Outbreak 3. I won’t say more than that for now though. https://t.co/Yl6peklnbX

Resident Evil: Revelations was another sub-series, but more closely related to the main story. The first game, originally released in 2012, took place between RE4 and RE5, and the second, which appeared in 2015, was woven into a storyline between RE5 and RE6, both of which involved some of the main characters in the franchise.
Anyway, Capcom is now focused on releasing Resident Evil: Village, which is likely to launch in April 2023, so we will probably not officially hear about Resident Evil: Revelations 3 anytime soon.
At the same time, apparently, the new Resident Evil will continue to be released on an annual basis. From the same leak, it became known that a remake of the fourth part should be released in the spring of 2023.
