Square enix released a remake Trials of mana. So far this has not happened on all platforms – access will open in the coming hours. But role-playing action is already receiving positive feedback from players and the press.
PlayStation 4 Aggregator Version Metacritic rated at 77 (user ratings 8.3). This is the average score for Opencritic. Critics point out that the three-dimensional remake of the classic 2D Super Famicom game gives new life to a familiar fairy tale, and it looks fresh and modern.
This is intended as a full-fledged 3D remake of the classic RPG, but Trials of Mana strictly adheres to the structure of the original game. As a result, plot twists and characters look one-dimensional and are quickly forgotten. This is further compounded by clumsy storylines and inaccurate English voice acting.
But the measured pace of the game is perceived surprisingly fresh, while modern role-playing games are trying to stretch the passage for a hundred or two hours. In addition, a simple, but neat and effective combat system makes the game even more attractive. All in all, Trials of Mana is a delightful comeback of the classics.
