Raya and the Last Dragon is a Disney family animated film worth watching

Company Disney is still capable of producing emotional full-length cartoons, and if “Frozen 2” raised some questions, then “Raya and the last dragon” returns the “mouse house” to the list of animated favorites.

The history of the magical land of Kumandra, where people and dragons lived side by side until the terrible creatures of human envy and discord druuna came, perfectly intertwines Asian mythology and modern graphic standards. It can be seen that the authors were inspired by both oriental cinema and the legacy of “Star Wars” – which is only a droid-like companion of the protagonist Tuk-Tuk.

Raya’s journey full of dangers in search of fragments of a destroyed artifact capable of saving humanity, and the eccentric dragon Sisu, which brings to mind the heroine of Equestria Girls, grab attention and do not let go for almost two hours of screen time.

The creators of the cartoon not only talk in detail about the heritage of the world and the catastrophe that happened, but also introduce the audience in detail to all the characters, offering to understand their motivation and decisions. The basic idea of trust goes through so many serious tests that it begins to seem that it is not destined to become the central theme, but the authors still bring the story to a bright and very strong ending. It is clear that Disney has been actively testing its work on various audiences for a long time, skillfully squeezing out laughter or tears through neural network calculations, but in the movie Raya and the Last Dragon these emotions do not seem artificial or far-fetched. You empathize with the heroes quite naturally, falling under the magic of natural charm and fascinating storytelling.

The idea of splitting the single state of Kumandra into small principalities of Heart, Fang, Claw, Ridge and Tail is perfectly intertwined with the new idea of the Russian state about the great unification of peoples. So for Russia this is also a great patriotic movie, and the authors from Disney did not even suspect. Apparently, powerful Russian hackers intervened here as well.

But if you put jokes aside, “Paradise and the Last Dragon” is a very family-like, vivid and emotional movie with an idea that is bright and important for the split covid and the greed of humanity, which will not leave anyone indifferent.
