In conversation with The loadout development manager Rainbow six extraction said that the cooperative shooter will not have its own operatives. According to him, the huge number of operatives available in Rainbow six siegemore than enough to cover all options.
The authors note that they considered the possibility of creating new characters, but later decided that it was much more interesting to transfer existing characters to completely new contexts. This approach will allow the team to add new layers of lore and shed new light on the operatives.
However, this does not mean that there are aliens in Rainbow Six Siege. The Development Lead notes that Extraction is a “what if” scenario in the Rainbow Six universe.
On the E3 2023 company Ubisoft presented the first Rainbow Six Extraction gameplay video and shared the details of the co-op shooter. The game will be released on September 16 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC. At the start, the game will receive support for crossplay and cross-progression.
