PS5 DualSense controller unpacked on video and tested in Forza Horizon 4 via xCloud

Playstation 5 today began to fall into the hands of Western journalists and bloggers. The console is currently under an embargo, but DualSense, this does not seem to be the case. Famous techno youtuber Austin Evans posted a video on my channel with unpacking the new controller

The kit includes only the DualSense itself and the instruction manual. The USB charging cable was not included in the box. Apart from unboxing, the blogger also tested the controller in action:

  • The cross is made in the form of a single button, like on the DualShock 4, the sticks are tenacious, and the triggers have a tight pressure;
  • The controller is larger than the DualShock 4 and slightly larger than the Xbox Series X controller;
  • Xbox Series X, as expected, did not recognize DualSense, but it can charge it over the wire;
  • DualSense connected to the PlayStation 4 Pro and the system even saw the built-in microphone, but the controller itself does not respond to pressing;
  • The controller connected to the Android smartphone without any problems right out of the box and was successfully tested in the Forza Horizon 4 game via the xCloud cloud service. Only vibration and special features of the gamepad, such as tactile feedback, did not work;
  • The Windows laptop also proved to be fully DualSense compatible;
  • At the end of testing, the controller was disassembled to demonstrate the internal components. It turned out that DualSense has not one, but two microphones. One is located on the front under the PlayStation button, while the other is located on the back and is probably used for noise cancellation.
