Project G.G. – a new game from PlatinumGames, the development of which is led by the creator of Bayonetta and Devil May Cry Hideki Kamiya

The second in the line of new works by the Japanese studio Platinum games will be a game called Project G.G. Her full announcement should take place this afternoon, but thanks to the early leak of a fresh issue Famitsu first information has already appeared.

Developed by Project G.G. personally led by the vice president of the studio, creator Hideon Kamiya and Bayonetta and Devil May Cry. This game must complete the unofficial “superhero trilogy from Camia”. At the beginning of the two thousandth game designer released Viewtiful joe back at Capcom, ten years later introduced The Wonderful 101, and now engaged in Project G.G. Based on the description, the latter, apparently, will inherit some common features of past projects and, in terms of setting, will belong to the tokusatsu genre (Super Sentai, Power Rangers, Ultraman, Kamen Rider).

The pages of the magazine showed a boy who turns into a giant in order to fight with kaiju – a huge monster.

“Viewtiful Joe revolves around one guy who turns into a hero, The Wonderful 101 focuses more on a whole group of heroes, and Project G.G will become a game about a giant hero,” Kamiya explained.

Head of PlatinumGames Atsushi Inaba noted that, taking up the development of Project G.G, the studio decided to go “against the expectations of users, but in a good way”.

Project G.G. – An action game in which, however, there is a place not only for non-stop battles. The studio wants to experiment with various elements and release a project that has no analogues.

“We focus in this game not only on action.”

Now the development of Project G.G. is in the early stages. The development team is not yet staffed. PlatinumGames has opened a new office in Tokyo, which should grow to 100 employees. Now only 15 people work there.

As for platforms, at this stage Project G.G. want to release “on all existing systems”. The approximate dates of the premiere are not called.

Project G.G., like the upcoming remaster of The Wonderful 101, will be published by PlatinumGames itself.

PlatinumGames said that the Chinese company Tencent, which recently became one of its investors, volunteered to fully finance and publish Project G.G., but the studio refused because it wants to reserve all rights to this game.
