production of the new Switch model with OLED screen starts in summer – Igromania

Edition Bloomberg citing its own sources, reports that the company Nintendo plans to announce the new Switch console model later this year.

The console will allegedly receive a 7-inch OLED screen with 720p resolution from Samsung… The production of the displays will start in early June and will begin shipping around July for assembly. The goal is to produce approximately one million displays per month.

Speaking to Bloomberg, experts noted that the OLED screen will use less power, provide higher contrast and possibly better response times compared to the current Switch LCD.

It is also reported that when connected to a TV, the new model will produce 4K resolution.

Recall that as part of the report for the third quarter of the current fiscal year, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said that the company does not plan to announce a new Switch model in the near future.
