Portal 2, 10 years after its release, suddenly received a major new update on PC

Company Valve Suddenly released a major new patch for the PC version of the puzzle adventure Portal 2One of its key innovations was the addition of support for the Vulkan API… A separate setting for changing the software interface did not appear in the menu – to activate Vulkan, you need to run the “-vulkan” command line parameter.

The update also fixes many different bugs. For example, we fixed multiple duplicate text on the screen and a memory leak that could occur when changing levels, as well as an error that led to the inability to use markers and taunt gesture with the mouse / keyboard if the game had ever been played with a controller before.

In addition, the patch further optimizes rendering, improves the effect of dynamic lighting on portals in the scene and the display of buttons when using a gamepad, and also adds a more accurate selection of default settings for each PC and removes the “Trade” button, which, when pressed, would open a window with a message soon launching the sale of in-game items through the Steam marketplace. The system was supposed to be launched shortly after release, but over the past 10 years, Valve has not implemented anything.
