Research by an analyst firm VGM, revealed that US gamers who pre-ordered next-gen consoles are mostly opting for the disc version of the PlayStation 5.
This result was given by a survey 511 respondents representing the US gaming population. Of these, 15% said they were able to successfully pre-order. 72% from this group chose the disk version PS5, thirty% preferred Xbox series x, ten% settled on PS5 Digital Edition and 8% have taken Xbox series s…
29% of respondents said that attempts to pre-order a new console were unsuccessful. Among them, 58% were ready to buy PS5, 40% – Xbox Series X, 21% – digital PS5 and 11% – Xbox Series S.
Considering the games, 52% of those surveyed who pre-ordered a PS5 or intend to purchase it by the end of 2023 said that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales became the exclusive that pushed them to choose this console… It is followed by God of War: Ragnarok (42%) and Final Fantasy XVI (32%).
In the case of Xbox Series X and S, the main exclusive motivator was Halo: Infinite – she appeared in 45% respondents… It is followed by newer parts Fable with 26% and Forza Motorsport with 24%.
In terms of multiplatform games, 45% of survey participants who pre-ordered any of the upcoming consoles or intend to buy one by the end of 2023 indicated that the reason for their decision was Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War… In second place came Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – for her sake, new consoles are taken by 31% of respondents.
Interestingly, 45% of those polled who leaned towards the PlayStation 5 said they should be able to play Sony exclusives, while 42% of those interested in the Xbox Series said they want to use Microsoft services like the Xbox Game Pass.
