Playstation 5 again became the best-selling console in the UK at the end of July, according to a monthly report GamesIndustry.biz with reference to GfK data.
In fact, PS5 sales in July remained at the level of June, almost surpassing the results of all other platforms combined… Nintendo Switch moved up to second place, but in unit sales it closed the month slightly weaker than June, and Xbox Series X | S due to a shortage of stocks, they ended up at the end of the top three. In total, in June, the British bought 146,000 consoles, which is 21% less than in May.
- The top-selling accessories were again the DualSense gamepads, with the white version in the first place and the black version in the second. The closest to them came a special edition of The Legend of Zelda-style Joy-Con: Skyward Sword HD for Nintendo Switch, which debuted at # 3 on the charts;
- Sales of games in June amounted to 2.09 million copies – 770 thousand of them in physical media and 1.32 million in digital. In general, this is 17.2% less than a year earlier;
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD turned out to be the main hit in retail, but since Nintendo does not share digital sales data, F1 2023 took the lead in the combined charts (digital + retail). However, none of them managed to beat last year’s July the result of Ghost of Tsushima;
- EA became the largest publisher in June thanks to the successful sales of F1 2023 and FIFA 21, followed by Nintendo and SEGA. The largest console in terms of software sales remains PS4 (35%), followed by Nintendo Switch (21.5%).
