Users Playstation 5 and some latest TVs Samsungincluding the Q80T, Q90T and Q900R have been experiencing a device compatibility issue for several months now.
Its essence boils down to the fact that on these TV models, when playing with PS5, it is not possible to output a picture in 4K resolution at 120 Hz with an active HDR mode… The only workaround currently available is to either lower the refresh rate to 60Hz or disable HDR.
Fortunately, Sony is already working on a fix, and in a recent update on one of the threads on Samsung’s official European support forum, a representative from the Korean manufacturer confirmed that a fix should arrive in March along with the latest PlayStation 5 firmware.
The company noted that the problem lies in the software of the PlayStation 5, so no software updates or repairs are required for their TVsalthough Samsung recommends that users regularly install fresh system updates for stability and security reasons.
On the side Xbox series x no such problem was noticed.
