Phil Spencer explains the lack of exclusives at the Xbox Series X at the start of concern for users

Game Director Microsoft Phil Spencer explained the company’s position on cantilever exclusives for Xbox Series X. As you know, within one or even two years after the release of the new platform, all games of the publisher Xbox Game Studios will be released immediately on the newest system, the Xbox One family and PC.

According to Spencer, concern for users prompted such decision Microsoft. The company wants Xbox One and Xbox One X owners who are not yet able to buy the Xbox Series X to have the opportunity to enjoy platform releases on devices they already have. Of course, these games will look most beautiful on the newest hardware, but modern engines are flexible enough to produce a decent picture everywhere, the top manager noted.

“We should think primarily about the players. They should be at the forefront,” Spencer emphasized.

Microsoft was also inspired by the PC industry, to which it is directly related. Spencer pointed out that many modern PC hits are launched not only on the most top-end hardware configurations, but also on simpler builds that are more than one year old, and they feel good there – they can boast a large audience.

For those who want to get a console with advanced hardware and play the best console versions of Microsoft games and not only as soon as possible, the Xbox Series X will be released.

“We wanted to create a console that would be the best in its niche and could offer developers unique opportunities to create better games,” Spencer said, adding that as part of this process, it was also important for gamers who have so far the Xbox Series X imagined they cannot allow, they did not feel abandoned.

“It’s important to move forward hand in hand with the developers themselves, who are interested in reaching the widest audience. And yes, there are always trade-offs.”

At the same time, Spencer emphasized that Microsoft will not force or ask third-party developers to release all their games on the Xbox Series X and Xbox One. They are completely independent in their decisions.

“Today’s trends are such that users want to play games with their friends, no matter what system their friends use. People also want the platform they choose to offer the widest library of games on the market. And developers need the best technology.” and tools to improve our skills. With all of this in mind, we’ve developed our Xbox Series X plan and are very pleased with it. “

The Xbox Series X will debut in the fall of 2023 – at about the same time as the PlayStation 5.

The start line of the console will include a shooter Halo: Infinite. The console will be compatible with games from all generations of Xbox and all Xbox One accessories on the market.
