Bogdan Iceberg Vasilenko:
“It all started with the fact that we went to a 40-day bootcamp, which, in fact, predetermined a lot of things in our team. For several weeks we were doing well: there was progress, we trained, everyone was on fire. Then it turned into a routine. And, of course, moment triggers. You know that it’s hard for people to live in one room, even more so. Against this background, we had frequent quarrels, and they were mostly in the game. We had this, for example, Gena [GeneRaL] with Roger they could not stumble in any way, it was from the very beginning. At first, we did not close our eyes to this, but rather focused on the fact that Roger had just arrived, he needed time to get used to Gene, and so on. But the further we went, the worse it all happened. We constantly had conflicts, quarrels, which is not normal. After all, you need to be in good shape all these 40 days, since you play the league. We couldn’t physically do it. At some points, just no one wanted to share the blanket, let’s say – everyone pulled on themselves. In terms of gameplay, in most cases, we had triggers, specifically with Roger and Gena, as it was very difficult for them to stand the line. I can’t even convey in words how hard it was for them to stand on the line. I saw that Roger tried to interact with Gena, and Gena tried, but it all ended very quickly. Literally one trigger, and it all happened again like groundhog day. Up to exactly one mistake, and everything went back to the very beginning, and we could not fix it. “
Vasilenko stated that the team could not show a good game during the first season of DPC 2023 and was lucky to get to the Major.
Bogdan Iceberg Vasilenko:
“We and the team as a whole did not have a very pleasant atmosphere, in the second half of the bootcamp I didn’t seem to notice any moments myself, I was lazy myself, played poorly, which was noticeable. And we, as a whole, in the team did not manage to show a good game, even, conditionally, we had huge problems with Gambit. We just … I wouldn’t call it luck, it was very hard to win that game with Gambit. I think we were lucky that we made it to the Major from second place. People did not know this and did not notice, they thought that everything was fine with us, but we had enormous problems in this direction. The atmosphere was already very spoiled. There were instant triggers. Firstly, it turned out that we didn’t roflate anymore – it was like hurting each other. And everything depends on the atmosphere: you point out a mistake to a person in the game, but he does not perceive it as if your team wants to make you better, but as if they want to beat you up. We came to such an atmosphere as a team. “
Iceberg told how the training went when he and Andrey ALWAYSWANNAFLY Bondarenko contracted the coronavirus.
Bogdan Iceberg Vasilenko:
“After the bootcamp we talked, we got a negative experience from it, we parted, talked to avoid such mistakes in the future, to take a break from each other. We planned a bootcamp before the major. It so happened that Andryukha and I got sick. Then I had to quickly choose who to replace. We chose Mag and RAMZES666, then we also took LeBron, because Andryukha is having a hard time on the “five”. And, of course, they started training. Gena is in the mid. After that, when RAMZES666 and LeBron came in, everyone noticed that RodjER and RAMZES666 interacted well on the lane and everything was very cool. Of course, Andryukha and I watched from the side. I told Genya in the mid how and what to do better, because he had little time for practice. In principle, everything worked out very well, considering that we played with two substitutions. But it turned out better than when the five of us played. It seems to me that from that moment on, thoughts crept in that something needs to be changed. “
Vasilenko said that they also wanted to expel him from the team, but he was able to convince the team that he was motivated to play.
Bogdan Iceberg Vasilenko:
“On one day of the Major, we got together and thought about what to do in the team so that we had a person who would speak in third position, since it was difficult for me to call something from my position. I need to focus on my game, now this is the second position – I can’t watch who is going where and going. We discussed a lot, there were even options for me to try myself on the “troika”. We quickly removed this idea from our heads. <...>
Then, throughout the story, I don’t know what happened next, how they interacted. But as I understand it, Vovan [No[o]ne]with RAMZES666 they wrote that they want to try in NAVI, that’s all. This, of course, was discussed. Even before that, everyone had an idea to somehow change the game and so on. Well, as I see it.
Then, on the 4th, an hour before GeneRaL was kicked, they called me and they also told me that I would kick and so on. <...> [Я тогда команде говорил]that I am charged, motivated, since I did not stream, paid a lot at that moment to “Dota” and wanted them to give me a chance. This is, in short. They went to discuss all this for 40 minutes and decided to keep me on the team. “
According to Iceberg, so far Roman RAMZES666 Kushnarev did not write to the team, no one wanted to take responsibility for the line-up changes.
Bogdan Iceberg Vasilenko:
“Nobody wanted to take responsibility for themselves and say:“ We are failing, we need to change something. ” We could not make a decision ourselves, for example, write RAMZES666. We started making a decision when RAMZES666 wrote. Before that, everything was as we agreed – “play together”. But we really had very serious conflicts, and the team collapsed right before our eyes. I suggested some things, but it all ended with the fact that it is difficult to implement. Since a person needs to completely surrender, remove some things, but GeneRaL is such a person, he cannot start calling or saying something. We just got stuck and couldn’t do anything. ”
Vasilenko added that the Natus Vincere organization did not participate in the decision on changes in the team.
Bogdan Iceberg Vasilenko:
“The organization is not to blame for this issue. It has always been this way [что клуб давал свободу действий игрокам]… Those commands that were not given freedom of action, they ended in failure. I played in many teams, and in those teams where the organization was directly involved, they simply do not exist. This is impossible. The organization cannot control such a process because it does not have the same knowledge as the players. ”
Iceberg commented on Bondarenko’s behavior in a video with explanations on the NAVI channel.
Bogdan Iceberg Vasilenko:
Fly on emotions. Fly, of course, acts ugly in many moments, and on vidos too. He does not know how to choose neither words nor expressions. He’s on emotions, so don’t judge harshly. Fly and didn’t need it [стрим] cut if he does not know how to control emotions. In this matter, one cannot show emotions, because he charges people with the same emotions – he does not understand this. And when you charge people with the same emotions, then you cannot win in such a situation, because no one will admit their mistakes. This is the whole problem. We made a mistake: they presented it too dry, did not give a detailed comment. They did badly that they reported one day before the rosterlock, although they could have reported earlier. ”
On April 4, RAMZES666 replaced Nigrini as part of NAVI. Later, the head of the organization, Yevgeny HarisPilton Zolotarev, told why the club’s management did not participate in the video explaining the reasons for the exclusion of GeneRaL.
