Japanese gaming corporation SNK announced that her fighting game Samurai shodown was selected as the main game of the upcoming eSports tournament Evolution Championship Series 2023. The championship will be held in Las Vegas from July 31 to August 2, 2023.
Tournaments for other games will also be held in the largest EVO 2023 fighting game championship:
- Street Fighter 5 Champion Edition;
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate;
- Tekken 7;
- Soulcalibur 6;
- Dragon Ball FighterZ;
- Under night in-birth;
- Granblue Fantasy Versus.
Mortal kombat 11 this time did not get into the list of supported fighting games, so the championship will be held exclusively on the “eastern” projects. But the tournament will return Marvel vs. Capcom 2, although in a special mode: eight invited champions of different years will fight for the prize pool.
Samurai Shodown released PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia in the summer of 2019. In addition, on February 25, the game will appear on the Nintendo Switch.
