Part II – UK’s Best-Selling June Retail Game – review

Edition GamesIndustry.biz reports that The Last of Us: Part II became the UK’s best-selling retail game of June. Moreover, in terms of the number of copies sold, it surpassed all other games of the first ten combined.

The most successful publisher of the month Sonywhich finally got ahead Nintendo, with 29% of the market in copies and 37% in money.

Just last month, 1.24 million games were sold in UK retail, which is 44% more than in May. By this indicator, June was the second largest month of the year after March.

Sales of consoles in June increased by 41% compared to the same period last year, but were 12% less than in May. Since the beginning of the year, console sales have grown more than 60%, and home devices (PS4, Xbox One, and Switch) have grown nearly 70%.

It is noted that this year the three main consoles are still selling better than in the same period last year. But sales of portable devices fell 84%.

As for accessories, they have sold more than 900 thousand pieces. Monthly growth was 14%, and annual growth was 40%. The most popular accessory was the DualShock 4 controller for the PS4.
