After leaving for distant work, the studio employees were told that they should first of all take care of themselves and their family, even if this would require taking a few days off. It does not matter that the situation may affect the release date of the project.
The key issue with the May 29 release stems from the inability to print enough discs on time and then send them to all regions. A purely digital release at the end of May is also unlikely, because then the audience will be segmented – not all over the world has good Internet.
However, Drackmann still does not exclude that Sony will take such a step by releasing a new product first only in the PS Store – the final decision has not yet been made.
Now The Last of Us: Part II is at the finish line – developers are only involved in catching bugs and general polishing of the project.
