Online cinema ivi received a loan of 3.7 billion rubles for the development of the service

Domestic online cinema ivi took from Alfa Bank a large loan of 3.7 billion rubles that will be spent on developing the service.

The loan was taken for six years against the security of the shares of the service and an option for the bank to redeem 2.5% of the company. According to the founder of the project, such investments indicate significant results of the company.

Among competitors, ivi representatives were the first to attract such a large loan to develop their service. At the same time, banks assess such operations as very risky. The loan amount, for example, is more than half of the service revenue in 2019.

But, according to sources, video services in recent years are the fastest growing media companies in Russia. In 2019, their market grew one and a half times to 17.1 billion rubles.
