In an interview with a podcast Fade to black Spellman stated that Marvel really made him redo one of the storylines. It is not related to the pandemic, but the showrunner spoke out in a rather strange manner. So, he repeated the phrase “I was ordered to stop talking about this topic“.
Apparently, Spellman did not like Marvel’s decision, so he plans to adapt the existing developments in the form of a book.
What is this line that is supposedly “not related to the pandemic”? Back in February 2023, the chief editor of the portal Murphy’s multiverse Charles Murphy stated that due to the pandemic, Marvel ordered to rewrite the script for the first episodes of Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
The insider clarified that the series will be associated with bioterrorism. In the final version, this topic was not raised, but the storyline of the grouping “Flag Crushers“turned out to be very crooked.
The show explained that Flag Crushers are trying to bring the world back to the state it was in before it was canceled. “Clicking Thanos“However, for the entire series, they only steal medicines and supplies, simultaneously organizing terrorist attacks with which they achieve goals opposite to their ideology (instead of opening the borders, the authorities begin to think about their complete closure).
From the original idea in the series, there were scraps, on the basis of which a rather coherent theory can be built. Supposedly, the original “Flag Crushers” planned to release a virus developed in the Asian city of Madripoor. This would allow the world to be rolled back to the state before the cancellation of “Click of Thanos”.
As you can imagine, such a twist could not be to the taste of the Chinese authorities, because analogies with coronavirus inevitably arise (some American politicians argued that COVID-19 was allegedly created artificially in a Wuhan laboratory). Disney is trying with all his might to gain a foothold in the Chinese market through films such as “Mulan“(Mulan) and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings“(Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and the company clearly does not need a new scandal.
The “Flag Crushers” storyline has been redesigned, although at the very beginning you can see that the main characters are trying to intercept the cargo with the vaccine. The segment in the Baltics (created on the basis of additional filming in the Czech Republic) looks foreign. There are also many scenes in which the speaking person is off-screen (a sign of altered dialogues).
We can also mention scenes with Sharon Carter, in which abrasions appear and disappear on the face and body. But the actress suffered the most. Veronica Falcon… She was supposed to play the “Flag Crusher” matriarch, but there were only two scenes left in the series with the actress: death from “tuberculosis” and the funeral.
Spellman added that he also wanted to follow up on the story of Captain America’s re-creation of the serum, describing the influence of members of the Nazi organization. “HYDRA“for a program in which a black super soldier participated Isaiah… In the end, they refused this, because too many people would know about the trials, and Isaiah could not organize his fake “death” with the help of a nurse.
