Officially: Netflix Films BRZRKR Comic Phenomenon With Keanu Reeves

Streaming service Netflix announced cooperation with the publishing house BOOM!, within the framework of which the film adaptation of the comic was launched into production “Berserker“(BRZRKR)… The latter was developed with the participation of the actor Keanu Reeves, who also gave the glav hero his appearance.

We are talking about two projects at once, the first of which will be a feature film, and the second – a continuation in the form of an anime series. Reeves will act as the lead, voice actor and producer.

The Berserker comic tells the story of an immortal mercenary who has been wandering the Earth for 80 thousand years. Funds to create a publishing house BOOM! collected through Kickstarer

At the beginning of February 2023, it was announced that the circulation of the first issue exceeds 615 thousand copies, a significant part of which ordinary customers will receive directly. As a result, the release date had to be postponed until spring in order to meet demand.

Analysts call “Berserker” the most popular comic strip in the last 10 or even 30 years (according to various estimates). In 2015, the first issue of the comic Star Wars from the publisher Marvel comics sold in a million copies, which was due to the hype on the film “Force awakens“. However, there was one caveat – Lucasfilm made a major wholesale deal with the store Loot crate, who bought 400-500 thousand copies at a discount.
