Development of a series based on Twisted metal from Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions officially got off the ground. The portal shared the relevant news Variety, also revealed the names of the people who will be in charge of producing the show.
According to the publication, the executive producers of the television adaptation of Twisted Metal will be the scriptwriters of Deadpool and Zombieland. “Twisted Metal is one of the most beloved PlayStation franchises. We are thrilled to have such a great team working to bring this iconic game to real life and delight fans,” said PlayStation Productions head Asad Kizilbash.
The show will be filmed in an action-comedy format and will tell the story of a loser who gets a chance to improve his life if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package through a post-apocalyptic wasteland. In the company of an aggressive car thief, he will face marauders ramming cars and survive other hazards on the road, including a meeting with a psychopathic clown Sweet Tooth, driving an ice cream truck.
The cast of the series has not yet been disclosed, but earlier The Illuminerdi portal claimed that the studio plans to involve in the work on the show Anthony Mackie (“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”) and Will Arnett (“The Lego Movie: Batman”).
