Official: XCOM Contributors To Show New Games This Year, Gearbox Prepares For Take-Two – New Borderlands?

Company Take-Two Interactive, which includes 2K Games, Rockstar Games and the Private Division, has released its FY2023 report, sharing updated sales figures for their games and plans for the near future

  • The Outer Worlds’ shipments reached 3 million, which is 500 thousand more than a year earlier. Additional sales came from the release of the Murder on Eridanos expansion.
  • The circulation of the entire Grand Theft Auto series exceeded 345 million, of which 145 million were in GTA V alone (+5 million in the last quarter). T2 recalled that the game reached $ 1 billion faster than any other entertainment release in history and is the best-selling game of the decade in the United States.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 shipments exceeded 37 million (+1 million in the last quarter). This is the second bestseller in the US in the past 3 years based on dollar sales. To date, the entire series has a circulation of 60 million.
  • Borderlands 3 has increased shipments to 13 million. It is the fastest-selling game in the series, and the franchise has a total circulation of 70 million.

  • Sales of the BioShock and Sid Meier’s Civilization series rose to 37 million and 57 million, respectively.
  • NBA 2K21 has sold over 10 million copies, surpassing publisher expectations. The project attracts 2.3 million users daily. The total circulation of all games in the line has exceeded 111 million.
  • Three Private Division games have sold at least one million each (Kerbal Space Program, The Outer Worlds, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey). Upcoming releases from the publishing label include OlliOlli World, a new project from Moon Studios (Ori Series) and other unannounced titles.
  • Gearbox Software is officially working on a new game for Take-Two, which will be released during this fiscal year (until March 2023).
  • With the rise of Civilization VI active users, and the success of XCOM: Chimera Squad and XCOM 2 on Nintendo Switch, Firaxis Games has had one of the best years of all time for Firaxis Games last year. Later this year, the studio will present “some interesting projects.”

  • For the current fiscal year (April 2023 to March 2023), Take-Two plans to release six new iterations of previously released games, including a nextgen version of Grand Theft Auto V, and four “immersive” core releases. The latter refers to titles with addictive gameplay that can keep players like GTA, RDR, Borderlands, Civilization, and NBA 2K for a long time. Two of them will be in new franchises, and one will be the next part of NBA 2K.
  • For fiscal 2023-23, 19 games are being prepared for the core audience, including 7 sports simulators, 4 games for the midcore audience (something like WWE 2K Battlegrounds), 3 of which will be athletes, as well as 3 re-releases and 5 independent titles for Private Division.
  • In total, over the next three fiscal years, Take-Two expects to release about 62 games under its wing (21 in 2023 and 41 from 2023 to 2023).
