NVIDIA to stop production of a chip for the Nintendo Switch

Following the news Bloomberg on the summer launch of production of the improved Nintendo Switch journalists Gamereactor reported that by the end of the year NVIDIA will stop making the Tegra X1 chip for the console.

This “system on a chip” is used both on the standard Switch of both revisions and on Switch Lite.

The release of the so-called Nintendo Switch Pro – a more powerful hybrid console model that can run games at higher resolutions at a more stable frame rate.

In this case, a screen with a resolution of 720p will remain in the portable, and when connected to a TV, an image output in 4K will appear. Nintendo itself has yet to confirm the existence of the model – perhaps it will become the new standard version of the console if NVIDIA actually removes the chip from production.
