NVIDIA boosts production of 4-year-old GTX 1050 Ti amid shortage of RTX 30 Series

Difficulties with the production of 8nm chips and the next wave of the mining boom have almost eliminated graphics accelerators GeForce RTX 30 Series from store shelves. To cope with the shortage of video cards, NVIDIA resumed production of old GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and RTX 2060, as previously reported by the media, but as it turned out, this is not entirely true.

In the official response to the publication PCWorld A company spokesman said that the actual release of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and RTX 2060 has never stopped. NVIDIA and its partners are now ramping up production of these graphics cards to meet market demand that remains extremely high.

“Products specified by you [GTX 1050 Ti и RTX 2060], have never been discontinued. Therefore, the term “revival” is not appropriate. In fact, it can be compared to the ebb and flow. We are simply meeting the market demand, which, as you know, remains extremely high. “

The GeForce RTX 2060 went on sale in January 2019 and is still an attractive solution for many gamers due to its support for ray tracing, DLSS technology and good performance in modern titles. In turn, the 4-year-old GTX 1050 Ti is no longer suitable for running demanding games, but it still ranks second in the ranking of the most demanded video cards among users. Steam
