Developers from the Belarusian team Sad cat studioscreating cinematic platformer REPLACED, spoke in enthusiastic tones about partnership with the corporation Microsoft… The studio really appreciates the support from the team Phil Spencer, noting the readiness Xbox Game Studios actively help the indie sector.
About working with Microsoft in conversation with the resource Twinfinite told Igor Gritsay, co-founder of Sad Cat Studios…
“The most important thing about working with Microsoft for us is the fact that this company really supports the indie market. If you weren’t it, there would be much fewer games released on various platforms in general. It really allows small studios to release their project, with this helping to convey information about him to a wide audience. I will say this: from the standpoint of an independent developer, you simply cannot find a single minus in cooperation with Microsoft.“, – Igor Gritsay explained.
Separately, the head of Sad Cat Studios noted the importance of the service Xbox Game Pass, where REPLACED will go right on the day of its release.
“In the case of Game Pass, all you have to do is press one button and just watch the installation process. Of course, there is also a certain negative point here: when there are so many games for users, it becomes very difficult to pay due attention to everyone. But at the same time, the service really helps. some projects really shine, because often this or that development is drowned in the background of thousands of other alternatives.
Game Pass allows us and other teams to bring our work to the public. I also heard that this platform has a positive effect on sales – we just have to be convinced of this! Simply put, the situation here is a win-win, “added Igor Gritsai.
As previously reported, REPLACED combines cinematic platforming, pixel art and fast-paced action with a gripping dystopian story set in an alternate 1980s America. The main character is R.E.A.C.H. – artificial intelligence, imprisoned in the human body against its own will. Players will explore and uncover the secrets of Phoenix City and its environs from the point of view of R.E.A.C.H., who is trying to adapt to life in a society where corruption and greed reign, and those in power regard people and their organs as ordinary currency.
The developers were inspired by “Blade Runner 2049“,”Stranger” and “Upgrade“.
