Chapter Team Ninja Fumihiko Yasuda expressed interest in the open world and science fiction genre for future studio games…
The developer spoke about this in an interview with the portal JPGames.De, when it came to what direction he would choose for the new franchise, if he had such an opportunity.
“I would like to try something that I have never done before, like creating an open world or even exploring the realm of science fiction.”
He also said that would like to see Ryu Hayabusu from Ninja Gaiden on the roster Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and is waiting for an “invitation” from Nintendo…
Yasuda first announced his desire to work on an open world project back in January in an interview with VGC. He noted that when porting the Nioh Collection to the PlayStation 5, the team appreciated the advantages of the SSD, thanks to which new opportunities open up for developers in creating open worlds. The developer emphasized that at the moment they do not have anything concrete to discuss, however, Team Ninja believes that there are no high-intensity open-world titles on the market that would be filled with action from start to finish, and in the future the studio would like to try themselves in creating such a game.
Earlier it became known that Team Ninja delivered the series Nioh to pause. No new games in the franchise are expected in the near future.
