Nintendo reassured western gamers – despite coronavirus, Switch consoles are enough

Nintendo clarified that her recent announcement of problems with the supply of new batches of Switch consoles to stores concerned the Japanese market. There are still enough systems and accessories in warehouses in the USA and Europe, so the company does not expect a significant impact of the coronavirus situation on global sales of its products.

Nintendo also promises to fulfill all pre-order commitments in the US and European markets.

“At this difficult time, we would like to express support to everyone who has suffered from coronavirus,” the report said.

According to official figures, as of December 31, US and European retailers and Nintendo supply partners had several million Switch that were not sold to end customers. Judging by the dynamics, they should be enough to cover consumer demand in the current quarter.

Nintendo sends goods to the West mainly by water, so retailers are trying to buy more products than they can sell in the near future, as the cargo takes a long time. In Japan, everything was delivered from China faster, so local stores do not have large deposits. There is already a shortage of flagship Switch models.

If the Chinese factories will not work for several months, then the problems with the availability of prefixes in free sale will arise in the West.
