Nintendo has no plans to release Switch Pro and denies profit growth with OLED model

Nintendo said it currently has no plans to announce a new Switch, limiting itself to a model with an OLED screen.

Recall that after the Nintendo Switch OLED show, there were rumors that the Kyoto-based company was preparing the Switch Pro, which will go on sale later. Some analysts have predicted the Switch OLED will be a “staging” model, released until Nintendo completes development of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and resolves the supply issues that were in short supply during the pandemic.

The upcoming console will receive a larger OLED screen, new speakers, and an upgraded docking station with a LAN port. In addition, the new model will not have any major hardware improvements. According to Bloomberg, the production of such a console will cost Nintendo about $ 10 more than the current one, although the final price difference for players will be $ 50.

Nintendo denied the information of the publication, saying that the conclusion of journalists about the greater profitability of Switch OLED compared to the conventional model is incorrect.

“In order to ensure correct understanding on the part of our investors and clients, we want to make it clear that this statement is not true,” the company tweeted.

In addition, Nintendo has denied speculation about a Switch Pro in the foreseeable future.

“We also want to clarify that the announced Switch OLED will be released in October 2023 and we currently have no plans to release any other model.”

Nintendo Switch OLED will go on sale on October 8 at a price of 349.99 US dollars, in Russia they ask for 30,499 rubles for the console.
