Nintendo has dealt with another attacker: American hacker sentenced to prison

California resident Ryan S. Hernandez was sentenced by a US court to imprisonment for three years for hacking the company’s internal servers Nintendo, publishing confidential information, and storing child pornography. The defendant fully admitted his guilt

Access to servers Nintendo Hernandez received back in 2016, as a minor, by stealing the personal data of one of the company’s employees. Over the next two years, the hacker not only kept the stolen information, but also continued to share it in the public domain. Then the investigation initiated by FBI, bore fruit – the lawyers contacted the Hernandez family and, given the circumstances, offered to resolve the situation peacefully, taking from the attacker a promise to stop engaging in illegal activities

Nonetheless, Hernandez continued to store the stolen data, as well as publish it on the network… Such actions of the hacker forced the authorities to confiscate his equipment, where, in addition to files Nintendo child pornography was also discovered.

Now Ryan Hernandez will not only spend three years in a prison cell, but will also be required to pay Nintendo amount of US $ 259,323… At the same time, for the next seven years after his release, the hacker will be under close supervision of regulatory authorities.
