Studio Striking Distance by Dead Space creator Glen Scofield presented an extended version of the trailer announced at The Game Awards 2023 horror The callisto protocol… The video shows how the monster destroys one of the prisoners in the maximum security prison on Callisto, the moon of Jupiter.
At the end of the video, the authors demonstrate what ultimately happens to a person killed by a terrible creature.
In a recent interview IGN Scofield revealed that The Callisto Protocol is conceived as Scariest game of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X generation – or one of the most frightening for sure. The studio intends to create a “new generation horror”.
The authors are going to make the most of the features of modern hardware for the implementation of truly impressive visual effects and soundtrack.
Along with this, Scofield also confirmed that the events of The Callisto Protocol really take place in the universe. Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) – about 300 years after the conditional plot presented in the royal battle… Father’s studio Dead Space was originally created to release single-player AAA games in the PUBG universe.
At the same time, in terms of gameplay, PUBG and The Callisto Protocol will be completely different games pursuing different goals and objectives – it’s not worth equating them, the head of the horror development noted.
According to preliminary plans, the release of The Callisto Protocol should take place in 2023.
