Deep Silver and 4A Games have announced an improved version Metro: Exodus for PC… Reprint with subtitle Enhanced Edition Coming this fall simultaneously on Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG…
Like the upcoming versions of the game for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X / SDue later in 2023, users who already own Metro: Exodus on PC will get the Enhanced Edition completely free.
At the same time, according to the developers, the update turned out to be so extensive that to play the Enhanced Edition, users will need a graphics processor with support for ray tracing as a minimum specification, and the reprint itself will be released not just as a “patch” to the base game, but as a separate product with the right to access it to all current owners…
Among the features of Metro: Exodus – Enhanced Edition from the game already released on the PC, the authors call advanced ray tracing capabilities with the addition of reflections and technology support DLSS 2.0 on video cards NVIDIA, which will provide clearer picture details, and also increase the frame rate and screen resolution.
In addition, 4A Games has shared fresh details on the Metro: Exodus port for current consoles.
Exodus’s new consoles will bring ray-traced global illumination and ray-traced emission lighting techniques pioneered in the Two Colonels PC expansion.… Improvements also include reduced load times, 4K / 60 FPS, ultra-high-res texture packs and a number of platform-specific features, including improved input lag and surround sound support on the Xbox Series X, and the use of DualSense tactile features on PlayStation 5.
Separately, it was noted that the Xbox Series S version will run at 1080p @ 60fps, while maintaining all of the other benefits mentioned above, including ray tracing.
All the improvements Metro: Exodus will get on PC, Xbox Series and PS5:
- Full ray traced lighting – now ray traced for each light source;
- Next generation ray tracing and visual noise reduction;
- New generation temporary reconstruction technology;
- Per-pixel ray-traced global illumination;
- Ray tracing of radiating surfaces with shadow zone;
- Infinite ray-traced light reflections;
- Atmosphere and transparent surfaces with limited RT illumination;
- Full support for a ray-traced lighting model with color spreading for each light;
- Improved reflections with ray tracing (only for the Enhanced Edition on PC);
- DirectX 12 Ultimate support (including DXR 1.1 and variable speed shading);
- GPU FP16 support and thousands of optimized shaders;
- DLSS 2.0 support (only for Enhanced Edition on PC);
- Added FOV slider;
- 4K texture packs;
- General optimization and bug fixes.
