Microids opened a new studio in Lyon, France, which was simply named Microids Studio Lyon… The company notes that the new office will focus on developing adventure games.
Industry veteran David Shomard, who previously worked for companies such as Atari and Sega, was named head of the studio.
The CEO of Microids noted that the company has decided to create a new studio and at the same time strengthen existing projects and investments with partner studios, as Microids’ turnover increased by 64% between 2019 and 2023.
With the opening of a new studio, Microids will be able to move into full internal game development. The company is currently working with several studios on over 25 titles.
