According to Roberts, it is a film adaptation of the first two games in the series, including their main characters such as Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine and Leon Kennedy. In addition, the film will show both the mansion from the first part and the police station from the second.
Other details:
- events will unfold within one night;
- the team worked closely with Capcom;
- the mansion and the police station are almost one-on-one copied from the games;
- the film contains not only plot, but stylistic references, for example, fixed camera angles;
- Key inspiration is a remake of Resident Evil 2.
The film stars Kaya Scodelario (Claire Redfield), Hannah John-Kamen (Jill Valentine), Robbie Amell (Chris Redfield), Tom Hopper (Albert Wesker), Evan Jogia (Leon Kennedy) and Neil McDonough (William Birkin).
Filming for Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City is now over. The picture will be released on September 3 this year.
