new NVIDIA cards may enter the market in September – review

German profile journalist Igor Wallosek announced new information about future video cards GeForce RTX. Earlier we wrote that these accelerators can get a custom design. The leak of this information caused a stir, and NVIDIA launched an internal investigation.

However, it is now reported that the previously shown version of the cooling system is not final, but only one of the two main ones. The Greens will make the final decision in July, when the Design Validation Test phase is over.

According to Wallosek, in addition to the usual version with an aluminum radiator and heat pipes, a more expensive version with an evaporation chamber is also considered. Most likely, it will become the basis of expensive cards with a thermal package of 350 watts. GPU itself Ampere GA102 will consume up to 230 watts.

Finally, the source called the approximate timing of the cards on the market. Mass production is expected to start in August, and sales start in September.
