During the online presentation Xbox company SEGA presented Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. However, the teaser shown did not answer the main questions: will this addition to Phantasy Star Online 2 or a global restart of the project.
New Genesis takes place a thousand years after the events of the original game. Players will enter a completely new open world with changing times of day and seasons. And for his research, the characters will be taught new techniques: photon dash and photon glide.
Simultaneously with the release of New Genesis, a graphical update for Phantasy Star Online 2 will be released. And players will be able to use the same characters and some equipment in both games – of course, they will be subjected to changes during the transfer. Premium currency will also allow you to move between universes.
The release of Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis should take place in 2023, it will be timed to coincide with the twentieth anniversary of Phantasy Star Online. The game will appear on Xbox One and PC.
