At the last presentation of the Oculus Gaming Showcase, Capcom and Armature Studio shared new information about the recently announced VR version Resident evil 4 for Oculus Quest 2…
The game builds on the core systems of the original and heightens the tension through immersive first-person VR experiences. Controlling with the help of touch controllers will allow you to interact with the environment in a fundamentally new way, especially for which the physics of interaction objects and weapons has been redone. The latter are now switched not through the menu, but are physically taken from the body, and can also be used in pairs separately with each hand.
Gameplay overview video:
It will be possible to move as before using the analog joystick, or by teleportation or moving around the room. The main elements responsible for gameplay and systems remained intact, but the game was moved to Unreal Engine 4 and updated more than 4.5 thousand textures… Some have been completely redrawn, while others have increased resolution.
All cut-scenes have remained in their original format. The character animations have not changed either. The game is due out in late 2023.
