Netflix announced the premiere date of the second season “Modified Carbon” – February 27.
The action of the science fiction series takes place in the world of the 28th century, where people have learned to digitize consciousness and load it into new bodies. In the center of the plot is a mercenary Takeshi Kovacs, who wakes up 250 years after his original body was killed.
In the continuation of the story, the path of the hero who is looking for the lost beloved Quellcrist Falconer will lead him to his home planet. There, he will investigate a series of brutal murders that are somehow related to his original quest.
The main role in the first season played Yuel Kinnaman (“Murder”, “Suicide Squad”), in the second the main party went to Anthony Mackie (Avengers: Infinity War). Also in the second season there will be: Simon Missic (Luke Cage), Dina Shihabi (Jack Ryan), Torben Liebrecht (Luther), James Saito (Life Pi), Rene Goldsberry and Chris Conner.
The project’s showrunner is Laeta Kalogridis (“Island of the Damned”, “Alexander”). The first season appeared on the service on February 2, 2018, it consisted of 10 episodes. In the second season, there will be only 8.
