Creative director Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Ashraf Ismail announced the departure of the role-playing action development team Ubisoft. He noted that his life was “broken” and he needed time to deal with personal problems.
“I am leaving my favorite project to thoroughly deal with problems on the personal front. My life and the life of my family are broken. I deeply apologize to everyone who has hurt,” Ismail said in a statement.
The developer added that hundreds of talented people work in the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla team, and they deserve that their project is not associated with its problems.
Ismail did not go into details, but he made such a serious decision after he was publicly accused of cheating on his wife. One of the users of Twitter, fond of games, said that the developer was in a relationship with her, being married.
He told her that he was free, but when the truth was revealed, she decided to break the connection, and then publicize this story.
The offended girl attached screenshots of personal correspondence with Ismail to her messages. He later asked her to remove them, but she did not.
“If his wife somehow stumbles upon my messages, I want to say this: sorry, I did not know anything about marriage. You deserve better,” added the ex-lover of an Ubisoft employee.
By her deed, the girl wants to “protect other potential victims of fraud.”
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla comes out in the fall of 2023.
