Multiplayer AI Soldiers: EA Reveals New Feature for Battlefield 2042

Company Electronic Arts confirmed that in a multiplayer shooter Battlefield 2042 there will be soldiers controlled by artificial intelligence.

Bots will be used in Capture and Breakout modes to fill servers so that matches are always full, regardless of time zones, as well as when playing together with friends against AI enemies, or for training races alone. The latter two seem to serve as a kind of replacement for co-op and campaign.

Other modes will also appear in the shooter, including the all-new Dangerous Zone mode with squad battles, which EA will talk about in more detail later this year, and a secret mode from the studio DICE LA, described as a “love letter” to fans of the franchise. According to rumors, it will feature classic maps, weapons, vehicles and more.

The official premiere will take place at the online presentation EA Play Live 2023 next month, July 22nd.

Battlefield 2042 is out October 22nd on Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on Steam, Epic Games Store and Origin.
