Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Devil May Cry 5 may be reprinted with improvements for next-generation consoles Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. An insider said this in correspondence with Twitter users. Dusk golemhaving a long track record of true leaks regarding Capcom games.
User: “In a previous post, you mentioned that RE7 and DMC5” maybe “can get ports for the next generation. Is this just an assumption based on your observations, or have you heard about this from one of your sources?”
Dusk golem: “Both that and another. However, since then I had clarification regarding the plan [Capcom] for current games on RE Engine and non-xstgen, but for now I will not share it. “I gave the green light to the people at Biohazard Declassified to publish the information a few weeks later, not intending to step on their heels.”
Given how regularly Capcom likes to release remasters of its old projects on modern consoles, the appearance of re-releases of Resident Evil 7 and Devil May Cry 5 for the next generation is quite expected. If so, it is likely that other released games on RE Engine will also receive optimized versions, including fresh remakes of RE2 and RE3.
