Minecraft creator called his game dead

Game designer Markus Persson, also known as Notch, author of the super popular sandbox Minecraft, named his brainchild “dead“. No additional context followed, but a heated discussion immediately flared up under the recording.

“I hate to talk badly about the dead, but yes, Minecraft is a bit dead,” Persson wrote.

Some users tried to object to the developer, pointing out the enormous popularity of Minecraft – sales are higher than ever, the audience is huge, the game is used even for educational purposes at schools and universities.

“If this game is still alive for you, cool. For example, I think that Rocket Arena 3 is still alive, too,” Persson reacted.

In the comments, the developer also began to be called a “stuck troll”, and another category of users continued to accuse him of homophobia and racism. Some agreed with Notch.

“The latest updates suck. Microsoft messed up Minecraft,” complained one fan.

Minecraft took its first steps at the dawn of the last decade. In a short time, the game turned into a real phenomenon, and in 2014 the absolute rights to it were bought by Microsoft Corporation for $ 2.5 billion. Persson became a dollar billionaire as a result of the deal and left the Mojang studio.
